When the time came to refresh the fleet, we wanted to own the vehicles outright, so we approached the team at RHCV.

Two Renault Trucks D Wide 18T trucks were purchased from Simon Bailey at RH Commercial Vehicles, they are the first Renaults they have owned.
The trucks feature the new design where elements such as enhanced robustness, increased comfort and increased efficiency. The new aerodynamic design features adjustable roof deflectors and side deflectors to reduce fuel consumption. However, no compromises have been made on the vehicles’ robustness. The cab has been reinforced for extra strength. 4-point air suspension, an external sun visor and a passenger-side vision door with a lower window have been added to enhance the driver’s visibility when on the road.
To enhance driver well-being, extra amenities have been added to the cab for comfort. Additional storage cupboards, sliding side sunscreen, and TV shelf with 24V provisions, have been fitted with additional anti-stress lighting for driving at night. Plenty of electrical provisions have been added for essentials such as a kettle and charging facilities. The Air-suspended COMFORT driver’s seat, with lumbar support, heated seat base and back has also been added for extra comfort.
Everything on the instrument panel has been designed to be within reach for increased comfort and greater efficiency. A central tablet support, with 2 USB-C ports, starting inhibitor, central locking and power mode are all fitted and within easy reach of the driver’s seat.
To enhance the vehicles’ efficiency, Optifleet has been added on a two-year subscription. Optifleet check provides technical data reports for fuel consumption monitoring by vehicle and by driver. These telematics can assist with working proactively to reduce fuel consumption and total cost of operation.
“Everything about these vehicles works incredibly well to keep our drivers comfortable and safe whilst on the road. The quality of the vehicles are excellent, and we have received no complaints from the drivers.”
To keep the vehicles in top condition when on the road, the “Excellence” R&M package was also purchased. This provides full cover and is the most extensive repair and maintenance contract available. The full 5-year package includes benefits such as all repairs including worn parts, O-Licence protection and regular maintenance check-ups – all planned in advance.
