Since 1994, EuroBale has been a leading UK supplier of haylage and hay. They also supply to a huge selection of the equine industry, including some of the largest thoroughbred studs and mews in the Newmarket. For example, the most expensive and successful racehorse, Frankel, the Juddmonte stallion.
They have also served Buckingham Palace, The Royal stud at Sandringham, The Household Cavalry at Hyde Park Barracks, The King’s Troops Barracks at Woolwich and the Metropolitan police.
This service saw them receive The Royal Warrant of Appointment in 2010 due to the supply of haylage to the Royal Stud at Sandringham and due to their ability to prove a commitment to reducing their environmental impact. The Royal Warrant is granted as a mark of recognition to people or companies who had regularly supplied goods or services to HM The Queen, King Charles III, the late Duke of Edinburgh, HRH The Prince of Wales or the Royal Household. The Monarch decides who may grant royal warrants.
In order to maintain its stellar service across the country, EuroBale needed reliable vehicles that served their needs seamlessly. Impressed with their previous experience, they approached RH Commercial Vehicles.
On this occasion, EuroBale received two Renault Trucks T5206x2 rigid vehicles, fitted with mani-transit forklift brackets, on contract hire basis.
Richard Brookes, managing director, explained why they opted for contract hire. “I liked the fixed monthly sum, it was simple and straightforward.
“When doing the monthly budget, it’s nice not to have any nasty surprises.”
Both trucks are delivering horse forage around the country and to the horse industry like the Royal Mews and Stud. So far, they are proving very popular with the drivers.
“The trucks drive very well, especially when the drivers have to drive to London and Sandringham.”
The T520s are fitted with a DTI 13 Engine which can achieve a maximum power of 1800rpm and has an EEC Euro VI pollution control level. These ensure the trucks perform smoothly.
EuroBale also finds its drivers’ well-being an important factor when choosing the right truck. By providing a vehicle that incorporates features that enhance the overall welfare package and standard available equipment, their drivers have “a nice place to spend the day” and feel looked after.
The T520s had premium fridges and microwaves added to the cabs as well as an HGV-specific Tom Tom navigation system, FM and DAB+ radio, USB port and jack socket.
“Sometimes our drivers have to reach destinations at 2 am meaning the days can be very long. Having everything they need in their trucks really goes a long way when making sure they feel comfortable and valued.”
Overall, the service EuroBale received was top-notch. Richard said, “The service from RHCV is always the biggest selling point, particularly from the Leicester depot,
“You are really made to feel like a part of the family, and we will certainly be using their services in the future.”
